This past weekend, my daughter’s sperm donor showed up at our house uninvited again. My daughter and I weren’t home. We had run to the store to get something. We were on our way back when my youngest daughter called to tell me he was at our house. I just about freaked out. I asked her where she was, she was hiding at the neighbor’s house. She said she had locked the door so he couldn’t get in. He waited at our house for a few minutes and finally left. While we were waiting for it to be safe to go home, he tried calling my daughter. When she didn’t answer, he sent he a text telling her there was a family reunion that day and to call him. She immediately said she didn’t want to go because she didn’t want to be around him. Later that day, he kept texting her. She told him she didn’t want to have anything to do with him. She doesn’t approve of what he is involved in and told him so. He kept arguing with her via text, but she never let up. She also called his sister and told her what was going on. Her aunt told her she’s glad she told him to stay away, that she thinks it’s best. I do as well, but I’ve always left the decision up to my daughter. I’ve always told her that it’s up to her what she wants to do about him. His strange behavior, the drugs, the illegal activity..it was all too much for my daughter. So she made that step and told him that she wants nothing to do with him and to leave her alone. I told her I’m proud of her for standing up to him. That’s a scary thing for a 17 year old girl. He can be an intimidating person, scary even. But she stood her ground and I’m so very proud of her.
