Last week I decided I was tired of scooping kitty poo every day. I did my research on the automatic litter boxes. I checked each store to see who carried them. Petsmart was the only store that actually keeps them in stock. Lucky for me, they had a couple of them on sale! I bought the clumping litter to go with it and made my purchase. I had to work that day, so I assembled it when I got home. The box said it was supposed to be quiet and had a sleep timer on it. Turns out, it’s not so quiet. When it runs it’s cycle, it sounds like a hand drill. You can hear it even if you’re on the other end of the house from it. Also, it’s not supposed to run while you’re sleeping if you set the timer. I set the timer, but it still went off during the middle of the night. There was a couple of times that the rakes couldn’t get past the clumps and kept restarting itself over and over. I had to manually scoop the poopies out. Not to mention that it sprinkles cat litter all over the floor. I’m not talking jsut around it. I mean ALL over the floor…several feet away.

A couple of days ago, I finally decided I’d had enough. I searched and searched for my receipt and finally remembered that I left it in my car. Good thinking! When I started disassembling it, I lifted up the unit and found a huge pile of cat litter that had fallen through where it keeps the lil clumps of poopie. Man, what a waste of money. I boxed it all up and took it back to the store. I told them it was a piece of crap and told them all the issues I had with it. They asked if maybe it could just be a faulty unit, I told them I didn’t believe that it is because I had read a few reviews that said they had similar issues. I got my money back and went back to my regular litter box. I’m now content with scooping poopies.
